George Preckwinkle District 25

George W. Preckwinkle is representing District 25 on the County Board. He is currently serving as Vice-Chairman of the Court Services Committee. He also serves on the Jail Committee, Public Health and Zoning Committee and the Sangamo Scripts Committee.  With his strong business background, George is committed to maintaining a balanced county budget, strong economic development and a sound financial footing for Sangamon County.  The majority of his time outside of county activities is spent overseeing operations as President of Ace Hardware stores in Central Illinois.

A strong sense of community and civic duty, Mr. Preckwinkle has served in the past as President of Memorial Medical Center Foundation, President of the Y. M. C. A. and as Campaign Chairman for United Way.  He is currently serving on the Executive Board of the Abraham Lincoln Boy Scout Council and the Friends of Sangamon Auditorium. Also, George is an avid sailor and an Eagle Scout.
