The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the Citizens Club of Springfield are partnering together to host a Springfield/Sangamon County Capitol Day. Luncheon speaker will be Doug Whitley, President/CEO of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. Whitley is a dynamic speaker and has a visionary message about turning the Illinois economy around. 12:30 p.m. the participants will head over to the Capitol Room 122B for panels and speakers on key topics being discussed this legislative session. The four topics include education and reform initiatives, jobs and the economy, dealing with the state's slow payments/budget and high speed rail. The cost is $15 to attend the luncheon and Capitol discussion. There is no fee to only attend the discussion at the Capitol.
